By the end of August over 3,500 filings are available in XBRL creating the ability to transition more quickly from raw information to analysis utilizing Excel. The CFA Institute sees great promise in the usage of XBRL to provide better data for deep dive and comparative analysis.
Most of the people I speak with regarding leveraging data filed to the SEC are unaware of the amount of data present today. And more importantly, just how much information will be readily available as more public filers hit their deadlines to file XBRL.
In this presentation:
· Review the CFA position and how many of the projected benefits are being realized today.
· Learn about the SEC mandate for public companies and mutual funds to file 10Qs, 10Ks and Risk/Return Summary information in XBRL.
· Analyze the amount of data available
· Demonstrate real world examples of how we can leverage this data in analysis.
· Enjoy a healthy discussion through Q and A.
